Varsity˛ Short Wheelbase Recumbent.

This bicycle started life as a Schwinn Varsity. John Cage of Abingdon Illinois re-manufactured it into what you see. It has a 406mm back wheel a 305mm front wheel. The wheelbase is 1054mm the seat height is 580mm the bottom bracket height is 600mm. The mass is 15.9kg.

When delivered, it had the 406/305 wheels. I trialed 559/451 and 559/305 combinations before returning it to the 406/305 setup. The handling suits me better with this combination.

I am running a single chainring on the front at present. I live in an area of the country that has some hills but with effort all the anticipated terrain can be overcome. With the current setup it has a range between 42 and 108 gear inches.

I have several bicycles besides this one and enjoy riding them all.
